Curiosity as a Compass: A Conversation with Our CEO, Justine Gaignard-Parent, on the Women of HubSpot Podcast

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of joining George B. Thomas on the Women of HubSpot podcast, a space dedicated to amplifying the voices of women shaping marketing, technology, and the HubSpot ecosystem.

I have admired George’s work for many years. He is one of those HubSpot heroes who manages to make every conversation both fun and deeply insightful. So when he invited me to share my journey, I knew it would be a meaningful one.

From ghost tours to digital transformation

My career path has not exactly been linear. Before founding Guépard, I was a journalist. Before that, I was giving ghost tours in Old Québec.

Looking back, those experiences may seem worlds apart from running a HubSpot partner agency, but they actually share a common thread: storytelling and connection.

Whether I was guiding tourists through cobblestone streets or writing feature stories for a newspaper, I was always learning, decoding information, and sharing it in a way that made sense to others.

That same curiosity is what eventually led me to the world of CRM, marketing automation, and HubSpot.

When curiosity meets technology

At Guépard, our mission has always been to make technology feel human. To help people not only adopt digital tools but actually enjoy using them.

During the podcast, I realized something important. No matter the role I have had : journalist, marketer, or business owner, curiosity has always been the constant.

I love diving into a topic, breaking it down, and sharing what I have learned so others can grow from it.

That is what drives me today when I help teams better understand their CRM, structure their processes, or embrace AI in their sales and marketing.

Finding your place and trusting your gut

We also talked about the importance of confidence, especially as a woman leading a tech company.

When I started Guépard at 25, I was one of the very few female agency owners in the HubSpot ecosystem. I often felt small in those early conferences, surrounded by people who seemed so sure of themselves.

But over time, I learned that confidence does not come from comparison. It comes from results, from trusting your instincts, and from seeing the impact of your work.

One of the lessons I shared with George was about a time I did not listen to my gut when hiring. It reminded me how powerful intuition can be in business decisions and how it is a skill worth cultivating.

A conversation about impact

For me, success has never been about scale or titles. It is about impact: helping businesses do meaningful work, empowering teams to use technology with confidence, and feeling proud of the difference we make together.

That is what I loved about this conversation. It was not just about HubSpot or marketing strategies. It was about purpose, growth, and how curiosity keeps us moving forward.
